It’s often you see new materials and products being released each year, but one of our personal favourites is the Colorbond range.

There are so many different ways you can add features to a building to make it look a little more modern or to reduce the overall expense, and we think this range is a great way to do that.

As stated on the Colorbond site:

Metal cladding can be amongst the lowest maintenance and most affordable ways to finish a building, the modern finishes available are providing a contemporary touch to a product that has always been part of history in the construction industry. Metal performs well in maintaining a tight building envelope and provides reasonably good insulation. Although there is a good deal of manufacturing involved in making metal cladding, it is possible to install recycled metal cladding and also to recycle it at the end of its time as a house.”

They’ve also released a new Matt finish which is visually quite effective and is a hot trend on the building scene at the moment. It also has a nice natural textured finish which is great to accompany a neutral colour palette.

On top of that when it comes to our the Australian climate, they put it best when they say that their steel Matt range “incorporates BlueScope’s unique Thermatech® solar reflectance technology which is designed to withstand our harsh Australian environment. It also benefits from BlueScope’s industry-leading metallic coating incorporating Activate® technology to provide enhanced corrosion resistance”.

We think that it’s great to have a choice when building. This option is a great addition to their existing range, and not only works well aesthetically for your build but can withstand harsh weather conditions as well.
